Eric Solomon is President of HR Concepts.  For the past 8 years, Eric was General Counsel for a national company specializing in the placement of legal professionals with law firms and corporate legal departments.  The company had $150 million in annual revenues with offices in 10 cities. 

 

In addition to counseling managers and employees on legal issues, Eric worked closely with the company’s human resources department in the following capacities:

 

  • Provided advice on employment-related matters, including employment-at-will, hiring practices, interviewing job applicants, job applications, background investigations, reference checks, development of personnel policies and procedures, employee handbooks,  job descriptions, wage and hour practices, employee privacy, absenteeism and leaves of absence, harassment and discrimination, discipline and termination, affirmative action, workplace violence, unemployment compensation, tort claims, workers’ compensation, disability accommodations, benefit programs, contingent workers, performance appraisals,  and employment litigation

 

  • Wrote newsletters, periodic bulletins, and other materials regarding significant developments in employment and labor law, emerging trends, frequently asked questions, and practical tips on managing employees

 

  • Oversaw internal investigations of harassment and discrimination claims

 

  • Created training materials, reference tools, and customized course curriculums on employment-related subjects

 

  • Conducted seminars and training sessions for management and employees on various topics, including interviewing, screening, and hiring job applicants, compliance with I-9 requirements, wage and hour practices, harassment and discrimination, discipline and discharge, conducting investigations, contingent workers, and problem resolution procedures

 

  • Negotiated, drafted, and enforced employment contracts, confidentiality and non-solicitation agreements, covenants not to compete, and severance agreements

 

  • Represented company in administrative proceedings before the EEOC, NLRB, and various state’s Department of Labor

 

Eric received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1991.
